Accomodation is less in Venice (city)than London. Mestre, the part on the mainland is even cheaper but if you are going to live in venice try and live in Venice itself (the city) so you can live amongst the canals and the beautiful palazzos! Food, Travel, Nightlife, Overall: was the same price as at home. Telephone, Housing: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
when renting a room you need 3 months deposit which is a lot to hand out in one go. If you can avoid the tourist places (San Marco) try instead to go to San Polo and Dorsoduro areas.. they are excellent, just as beautiful and less expensive! I worked, but it was illegal/cash in hand work Personal spending habits:
Housine in Venice is generally very expensive but we shared a small apartment which cut down our costs. There is not much of a nightlife in Venice so we always organised parties amongst ourselves and buying fresh one when you bring your bottle is so much cheaper than buying beer or any other drink. Food: was more expensive than at home. Travel, Overall, Telephone, Housing: was the same price as at home. Nightlife: was less expensive than at home.

I didn't want the experience to be limited by any financial matters. It was a once in a life-time opportuntity and I didn't want money to be an issue which I would regret afterwards. Nightlife, Overall, Telephone, Housing: was more expensive than at home. Food, Travel: was the same price as at home.
Personal comments:
Find the right places to go (no tourist places) and you can save lots of money. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Venice was much cheaper than california, but the phone was a problem. Buy a cell phone. Telephone: was more expensive than at home. Food, Travel, Nightlife, Overall, Housing: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
calling home from a cell phone is cheaper than using the phone in your house, or having people call from the states. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

As a tourist town and island, Venice is as expensive as Munich. Telephone: was more expensive than at home. Food, Overall, Housing: was the same price as at home. Travel, Nightlife: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
Appartment are expensive, if you are not looking for the cleanest and best in town (and don't want to spend half a year searching), it's the easiest way to save some money This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
