I wish I had known...
I wish I had know which people to meet and where to save my time. I wish had chosen the best enterprise in the town and to find my frined there. I wish I had know what to do to succeed even more than I did. I wish I had power to refuse certain possibilities that were waisting my energy that I could have devoted to studies, work and being with others.

Personal recommendation:
University of Caen is located in a city of Guillaume Conquerante. It is know for its´ historical monuments some from the eleventh century. The sudents' community is very interesting to observe and be with. While working and studying one may obtain experiences which are also reasons why he/she may choose this professional career and keep on going on the university path



FINAL COMMENTS

In general, Caen is a city which one may want to see. Ocean, historical sites, friends, situation that will touch his/her heart, there are things one may experience just once in his/her life. Further, several travel agencies will provide you with their services. The night life offers those who want to very good possibilities how to have fun, get to know the tradition of having great meals while talking to others. Cinemas, theatres, athletics game belong just to some of the possibilities in this growing city. It may be a good idea to consult internet, quides, people as well as to get ready in advance. Each and every person may choose the way of improvement by himself/herself.

I feel I was pretty well prepared and had good placement preparation advice from my university lecturer.

Personal recommendation:
The sports facilities are excellent and there are loads of student benefits, however access to computers and the internet is limited.



FINAL COMMENTS

The french love filling out forms so take plenty of photocopies of everyhing and loads of passport photos. Definately get a 12 - 25 rail card, it will save you loads on rail travel not only just in France. If studying in Caen it is definately worth getting a monthly tram pass.

I took me a while to get used to the culture at this university. Be ready to make an extra effort to get involved in extra-cirricular activities

I personally think it wasn't the best place to be, although everything turned out to be okay..

Although the normands may seem a bit cold in the beginning, when you get to know them you will have friends for life. If you are coming to Normandy, enjoy the nature and landscapes!!!

it was wonderful, the lunches were amazing! our french teacher was wonderful and very qualified to do her job

its a great program with the perfect balance of class activities and excursions and free time (you get a whole long weekend to yourself to travel). its only for 5 weeks but its worth it!
