Personal comments:
Well, that depends where the people are. In my semester the places were to go out the Highlander (the most, only for drinking), Shamrock (drink and play pool or table football), Meta (disco), The Ala (disco, go only on Fridays) and Backstage (reggae, rock, heavy, etc. look the program)!! Well, the atmosphere in Mastricht is very good, but the place to go are very few. Normally except Meta and Ala (about 05:30-06:30 am) the places close at 3 am in the weekends. Well, in the coffee-shop Heaven you can eat very good. As well there is a Chinese restuarant in the market square whit direction to the bridge, which only cost 6 euros during the working days until 5 pm, and it's a free buffet where you can eat a lot. The Turkish restuarant in front of the town hall in the market, it's also cheap. The rest you will find out it. Enjoy lovely Maastricht!!!

Highlander, it is the best place to share a beer with a couple of friends any day of the week, however on tuesdays it is paramount, as well as the highlander, the metamorphos, where you can meet regular students and also exchange students and dance until the morning

Personal comments:
Karneval, Christmas Markets, and the many many many bars and clubs. There is a disco in a converted church, as well. Ideal location for travel - last minute flights from brussels or amsterdam are a short train trip away - went to Spain, Turkey, Hungary, Italy...

Check out the Twee Heren (Typical erasmus pub on Tuesday night), Metamorfoos (happy hour from 01:00 to 02:00) and the Allebonneur. It deserves to be mentioned the Carnival that takes place in the end of February. The whole town turns crazy for nearly a week.

i visited a coffee shop (Hooven 69), as many exchange students i think! i just wanted to feel what is the ambiance inside. the town of Maastricht is really nice and it is proud of its history! there are others cities like Amsterdam or Utrecht that many students visited. it is very particular.

I liked a lot to do aerobics. With respect to the night life I really enjoy to go to the Ala Bonair, Cafe d'Uni, Twee Heeren, and in a sunny afternoon they are many choices within the Vritof to sit on a terrace and enjoy the sun.

The best night spots are Metamorfoos, Allabonneur, Twee Heren, Clinic. If you like techno music go to the Nightlife. The best cafes are in the vritjoff square.Carnival in Maastricht is a crazy week!!!!!!!!

ttwee heeren organizes student parties on Tuesdays, next everyone goes dancing to Allaboneur on fridays and Sat, go to De Kadanz which is a pretty good spot The Shamrock ûb is the best for beers and pool

The Erasmus Student Network students prepare a welcome to all foreign students and show you around. Places you will quickly get the habit of going to are "The Twee Heren" and "Metamorfoos".

International dinners and parties at the residence. The bad/weird point about it is that these were (almost) spontaneoulsy organized, so missing it was so easy as fiding it by chance.

Highlander, Twee Heeren, Meta, De Allah, Shamrock and Backstage are the most popular spots during the night. The kitchen parties in the guesthouse UM are also legendary!

Take five Cafe--youngersters' pub and social place; Bonboneie-disco, concert and social events takes place; some italian restaurant (forget name); TAFEL-- art gathering event; Carnival celebration

The Shamrock, and The Highlander irish pubs, and The Metamorphoos, as a disco full of international students. Never miss the special parties at the Bonbonniere.

Certainly cafes are really nice in Maastricht, specially "Cafe Zuid", "Zondag", "Marks&Kampstra" and "Take Five". The best night spots are "Metamorfoos", "Clinique" and "Twee Heren"

Don't miss the parties organized by ESN at the old theater house... many good cafes in downtown... try not to miss the carnaval at the end of Febuary

all of the international students tend to go to the Highlander (irish pub) which is close to the international student housing

The city has rather limited number of night spots,so lot of parties are organized rather at the guesthouse than in the city.
