In Sweden you have to pay when you go to the doctor for the first visit. It is the same for Swedish, THEY PAY TO RECEIVE a normal medical review. Amazing not even in Spain. In Uppsala, though it is an Student City, there are no speacial tickets for Students. I mean in Madrid you pay $20 you can take all the means you want as times as you need. In my opinion:
Everybody loved it, you will too!
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
For Students who want to go there: It is a great University, professor are very well prepared, enviroment is amzaing. Just be plenty of money, buy ski clothes, forget sun, admire swedish girls and you will have a unforgettable period. For the University: try to offer more lesson's hours, more lectures. People need a minimu "rythim" to realize they are studing. Try to gather and stimulate Swish students with foreigners. When you establish your agreement with another university, try that foreign universities benefit in one way their own students if they decide to learn Swedish.(In Carlos III University they DO NOT CARE ANYTHING if you make the effort to learn Swedish, it is not recognized in your record, you have to cry to make them care about swedish). Please improve your restaurant, I was always hungry. Please offer good food, chicken, meat, bread, etc not these salads!! improve coffe. Make clear to student if they have passed the subject. I thought I had passed Marketing Research in Novemeber Madrid Erasmus Office notified my I havent passed this subject because they lacked my group report. I had to repeat it by my own, and thanks to Mr.Thuman compression finally I could passed the exam 3/4 year later than when supposedly I would have to have passed it. FINAL COMMENTS
Eramus experience has been the best during my university life. I have learned a lot, I encourage all the students to carry out this experience. I ask to European Union and my goverment to equip Erasmus grants with appropriate economic budgets to make possible not only for medium rich people the possibility to go in another countries. Meanwhile the European mobility since people are very young through Europe we won't have a real Europe. The first step to garantee the future of the Union is to make affordable for everyone the mobility around Europe. In my opinion two points would have to be compulsory for the university students: 1)to go out of their own country at least for one year. 2) to learn the language of host country besides english of course. I wished I had known more Swedish. I would have tried to get a room closer to downtown. I would have brought a 'tuxedo' from home and then I would have been able to go to the traditional Gaskes. In my opinion:

I would very strongly recommend it. This review shows why :) FINAL COMMENTS
- Go to Goteborg Nation for Valborg and make sure you get tickets, you'll have one day only and there's bound to be a HUGE line so you should find out when that day is and wake up very early. You have to get used to the 'queuing' culture. Valborg is crazy and it is probably also the best time to invite over your friends from home. - Take time to travel around in Sweden and outside. You should definitely go to Stockholm, Kiruna, Goteborg, Gotland and Lund (I'm ashamed to say that I didn't go there but everybody says it's just great). Take a week at least for Norway a long weekend for the Baltic countries and maybe Finland. St Petersburg is also bound to be pretty cool. If you have the chance you could even venture to Germany, Poland and Tchek Republick (Berlin, Warsaw, Crakow and Prague). ... This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Personal recommendation:
Uppsala Universitet is a wonderful place for exchange students for it houses approximately 1500 students each semester from all around the world. It would be a great opportunity to interact with the vast culture of the world. It was especially great because Uppsala offers a wide range of English speaking course, which is less available in other universities in Europe, except for the United Kingdom. The lecturers are really helpful and knowledgeable. I would encourage anyone thinking of exchange to apply to Uppsala. FINAL COMMENTS
Budget your time and money carefully coz I regretted very much for not leaving out Norway, the only Scandinavian I missed due to short of time. Learn cooking!!!Very essential!!! U might find the Swedish food will not fit your taste bud very much and the cost to eat out is extremely high!!! Also, don't forget your lap tops as internet connection is very much accesible! Highly, but it depends on a person's prime motivation in going to Sweden. I spoke Swedish and had a specific area of studies in mind, so the place was sheer perfection for me. FINAL COMMENTS
Just be aware that any experience overseas in a different culture is what YOU make it. You get out of it what you put in. I strongly urge any travellers to Sweden to make any attempt (however small) to learn the local language - while it is true that Swedes demonstrate an ability to speak excellent English, knowing some Swedish will help you to feel more at ease in social situations of all kinds, and they are greatly impressed to meet a foreigner who has made some kind of effort to learn their "little" language. It's not all that different from English, and not hard to achieve a high level of competence once the initial difficulties are overcome. How much money I was going to go through in travelling, going out and drinking. Not that it would have made a difference though - I still would have gone even if I had known this. I just might have tried to save more money. In my opinion:

I would recommend it so incredibly highly. I had one of the best experiences of my life, and I will always remember it and the friends I made there. It has given me so many other opportunities - to visit people in their home country, to host people in mine. A beautiful city with a gorgeous university and a charming place with a real vibrancy for student life. I can't imagine anyone not liking it. FINAL COMMENTS

It would have been nice to know more about the local culture, nightlife and accommodations… just to get a better feel for things, more of a comfort level than anything else. This could have easily been done had I know someone there or who had been there recently. In my opinion:
Everybody loved it, you will too!

Personal recommendation:
Overall the university met and even exceeded my expectations. The only point that I would like to make is that if finances are a major concern, it may be best to either save more than you anticipate to spend, or look around. FINAL COMMENTS
I can honestly say that this international experience has changed my life for the better. My perceptions of what goes on the in the world are not just from my nations point of view any longer. Having friends from many different countries and wanting them to be successful and happy, forces one to look at things from their point of view. This experience opens a whole new world and I have yet to meet anyone who has thought otherwise. Go with an open mind and you'll enjoy the experience. My experience there was great. People who go there should be aware thet the weather is really weird and sometimes depressing but despite of that Uppsala is a great city to study and to have fun.Furthermore Sweden is a beautifull country where it it is really to travel in and also all the surrounding countries can easily be visited. I would definitely recommend Uppsala to anyone. I had been to Sweden before so I knew what to expect. I had one of the best experiences of my life, and I am going to try my hardest to live there! Use Ryanair for dirt cheap trips around Europe via London/stansted. Work at student nations (in the pubs)-- lets you get involved and meet the swedes. Ryanair flys quite cheaply from both Paris and London Stansted, although try and fly into Vasteras because the connecting bus to Uppsala is a lot easier than travelling through Stockholm. If you can get cheap flights to Arlanda then thats the best place to land - the connection is a quick and direct train ride! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
