Housing
Type of housing: A room exchange
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
I'd like to live in an apartment because in a student room that I have lived I needed to share showers and kitchen with 15 people so I'd rather prefer to have less people or either my own shower and kitchen with much more space and less costly.

The room was not provided by the university but they helped me to find one. The provider of housing is a well-known organization in Brussels but the room was dirty and destroyed when I first hired although all the problems were fixed by the organization carefully. However as a first impression it was not an hospital environment to live. I need to mention that the equipe of the organization were always so very interested and hospital.

Different neighbourhood are known for different social activities in Belgium. Mine is known for student activities and I believe I had a wonderful time during my stay there. The fact that the whole bulding was occupied by other students (both local and international) gave me a huge opportunity to mix and learn a great deal to share idea, skills, and culture heritage.

Though, EHSAL (Economische Hogeschool Sint-Aloysius) didn't have a student hostel however, there is a department responsible for accomodation-related issues on behalf of foreign students.

The university is well organized. Following the courses is not compulsory, so you can easily get off one day. The teachers are mostly professionals, which gives you the security that what you here is relevant. However, a minus point is that the courses are in English but the teachers are not native speakers!!

the school offered help in finding accomodation, and gave a few addresses, but it was a bit difficult to contact with those people, that's why I was searching on my own; I have a friend in brussels who gave me some links to good websites and but for his help it would be difficult for me to find anything

The housing in its broad evaluation was good, cause the same landlord owned several buildings in a district and then everything worked like a campus, and the social life has been perfect for an erasmus experience. Unfortunately those buildings were very bad kept.

this university does not provide housing. but this is not a problem in Brussels. there is students organization that has tons of agreements with landlords. also it is easy to find a place on your own, brussels is full of signs in the window: "a louer" - "to rent"
