This university offers to students extensive possibilities for housing: An der Schunter, APM or Langer Kamp are an example of this. The rent is usually cheapest than in a shared housing (Wohngemeinschaften). I have lived in the Schunter and every month I had to pay only €160. This included warm water, heating, and a shared kitchen and bath. The kitchen had all the facilities that can be found in every ordinary kitchen: fridge, electric cooker, cupboards, etc. There exists also a pair of washmaschines and tumble dryer.

Living in student residence allows you to meet lots of people from a variety of places. It's a good way to get to know some locals, as well as other exchange students at the same time.

Due to the variety in the structure of the rooms in Michaelishof (name of residence), your experience will depend on which part of the residence you end up. However all in all, I would say that was the best residence of TUBS; location, atmosphere, and price were all good. As for the cleanliness and space, as mentioned before, that really depends on where you are assigned.

The dorm was quite good, one small room with internet access but shared kitchen, living room and bathroom. Sometimes there were problems with too loud or messy housemates, or too many loud parties.....

The dorm was located in a good area, there was even a bar as part of the dorm, but I didn't get the room I initially signed up for via the application. I applied for a room with a kitchenette and didn't get it.
