Personal assessment
Type of housing: students' hostel
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? It is funny to live in a student's hostel for one year because you get to know a lot of people, but if I had stayed more than one year, I would have rented a room in a flat. Once you know the people at uni, you want to have your own space sometimes.
Personal comments:
It was cool to live with 9 others, there was always somebody in the kitchen to talk to. You learn a lot about different cultures (and how they cook!). But,it was very dirty, too... This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Personal assessment
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: A room exchange
Why? Not many social activities with locals/Germans were possible aat the campus.
Personal comments:
The housing contract is tricky, watch out for housing period in the contract (usually longer than a semester) and departure details, as no rent refund is possible and significant fines are deducitble from the room deposit. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Type of housing: student residence
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Another student residence
Why? Better tranportation connections.
Personal comments:
Most of the exchange students lived in student residences. These varied very much. So I'll recommend Am Steingarten or Carl Zuckmayer Strasse. Better connection to city all night, and close to park and swimmingpool. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? I like my living situation, and after seeing the other student housing units, I would take my studio in a heartbeat.
Personal comments:
I'm not too sure how the housing system works since I received considerable help from my host counselor. Overall, I believe it is very difficult to find good housing in Mannheim. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
