Personal comments:
Just make sure you have a budgte and you record what your daily expenditure is. Also there are plenty of odd jobs around to do for students, so part-time job is no problem to get at all.

Personal spending habits:
A mobile Sim Card is very cheap in England compared with France (I recomend Virgin mobile). And wanted to enjoy so I went out and travelled a lot. But at the end I spent less than in France cause in France I have no grant while in the UK I had the erasmus grant.
Travel, Nightlife: was more expensive than at home.
Food, Housing: was the same price as at home.
Overall, Telephone: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
It's hard to open a bank account when you stay only one semester. Tell the bank that you stay one year. Then it's very easy to find a job in Cambridge. You can work flexible for a work agency such as Blue Arrow or Berkley Scott. Various colleges of the University of Cambridge are constantly looking for catering staff, mainly waiters. Introduce yourself in many colleges and ask them if they need staff.

Everything in Britian is at least about twice as expensive (if not more) than in Germany. Quality for money is very low, specially in regards to accomodation.
Food, Travel, Nightlife, Overall, Telephone, Housing: was more expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
ALDI in Cambridge helps a lot. Sainbury's in city centre is lot more expensive than the one on Coldhamslane. Fresh and - more or less - reasonably priced vegetables and fruits best to be bought on the market. Eating out is always pretty expensive. Best tip: look for a job or save a lot before going to Cambridge! Good for travel: travelcard for the busses pays of in no time.

Yhea!!! MANY TROUBLES. My father sent to Westminster Bank 1000 pounds and the bank simply LOST them! I got them back after 2 monthes and I had to go to the bank every 2 days to check what was going on in the computer system of thhe bank. Even when they had the code transfert they were not able to find my money!!!!!!
