Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) reviews

The Erasmus Students Association in Athens arranges accomodation for incoming students. The appartment has to be paid (total rent + deposit) in advance. Until now you don't know your accomodation. The appartments are very different. If you don't like your appartment you have the possiblility to change. The most disappointing thing in my appartment was that there was now washing machine!

There are big differences between the quality of the flats!

The housing was ok, but the problem was that it was expensive for athens prices. But the university arranged everything for us and I think it is difficult to find a flat on your own, specially with furniture.

Maybe you should not book your appartment via the university. Consider looking for one yourself (buy Athens News and look in the adds), but keep in mind that you don't have the "key on the door" situation then... I personally know some people who looked for accommodation themselves, and they were able to find a really good appartment in a good area for 400 euro per month (two big rooms, fully equiped kitchen,...) Main problem with the appartments of the university is the cockeroach problem and tricky owners..

The administrative staff of the university made everything possible that all international students should me pleased with their housing arrangements

Organized pretty good, except of the deposit, which was hard to get back
