HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Home university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why? It is the best place to meet other students, especially other German and International students.
Personal comments:
The dormitory I am staying at is incredibly well located, clean and spacious. Most other dorms are the same except they are a little further away from the middle of the city. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

STUDENT LIFE
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Students equally interact with the local and student community
Travel: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment Activities, Nightlife: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
The closest disco to the city is "Brazil" even though by far it is not the best (that being "Airport"). The best cafes are all in Juliuspromenade although in Marktplatz the Cafe Schonbrun is extremely nice. Events not to be missed are the Kiliani Fest and the Mozart Festival. Language difficulties
Language of instruction: German
Was learning German a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't. Personal comments:
In the latest months it has been excellent. The key was to find an environment where you were the only international student with a group of Germans. The best opportunity for that was to find a job, so that is what i did and my language and communications skills have improved enormously. EXPENSES
The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
A private grant Other sources of funding:
Personal savings Work opportunities:
I worked during my study abroad experience Personal spending habits:
The college that i go at home is very small compared to this small German city. Another reason is that i dont have a car in the USA while in Germany everything is connected by railways. Travel, Nightlife, Overall, Telephone: was more expensive than at home. Food, Housing: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
Buy the Deutsche Bahn Card for travel inside Germany. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

OVERALL
Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
That the best thing to do is to find a job right away so as to be able to get to know the culture better and closer. In my opinion:
Most people loved it.
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
It was an excellent place to see the "real Germans", it is a typical German city with everything that anyone would need but if you are thinking that you will improve in your major (if it is not German) it will not come that easy. FINAL COMMENTS
Study abroad it can really change how you view an entire country and its people. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
