Travel to the Black Sea region and the Anatolian region. Look for apartments in Şişli and Levent - you may be able to walk home from the University instead of sitting on the bus in the middle of İstanbul's unbearable traffic. Read Review

Cleanliness
Space
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? Because it allowed for greater independence, freedom of movement, and allowed me to build a network of friends in Istanbul.
Personal comments:
I heard nothing about the university housing other than that it was extremely expensive relative to the prices that could be found in regular apartments.
