Personal spending habits:
At home I lived with my parents at that time, therefore, all the expenses related to living costs increased. Food and accomodation are more expensive in the U.S. than in Spain. Telephone expenses also increased haivng to call to Spain. nightlife is really up to your spare time and your personal choice. I summary living abroad resulted more expensive than living at home for me.
Food, Travel, Overall, Telephone, Housing: was more expensive than at home.
Nightlife: was the same price as at home.
Personal comments:
I already knew before going to Boston that it was one of the most expensive cities in the U.S. You can save more money if you choose not living on Campus because you decide how much you spend in almost everything.

Personal spending habits:
Boston is an expensive city. For instance, I pay twice as much for milk or clubs. $ is a good currency compared to French Francs. My daily expenditure (everything included : rental, food, ..) is twice as much as when I was in Bordeaux.
Food, Travel, Nightlife, Overall, Telephone, Housing: was more expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
Chose a place already equiped if you find one. Check location to save money in tramsportation. Check is heat is included and if it is gas or electricity, Boston is cold in winter ...

Make sure you have good travel insurance as opposed to US health insurance, it is better value for money. Always look around for ads, vouchers, promotions etc 'cos you can save money this way.

Concerning accomodation, Boston is the third most expensive city in the US, after New York an Los Angeles. I payed 300 $ each month for a 12 saquare meters underground room I shared with a friend who payed the same ! On the other hand, phoning my biyfriend somewhere else in the US cost me almost nothing

BECAUSE THE COST OF LIVING IS HIGHER, THE BEST EXAMPLE IS THE HOUSING YOU HAVE A LITTLE ROOM FOR 500$ PER MONTH
Food, Travel, Overall, Telephone, Housing: was more expensive than at home.
Nightlife: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
THE BOOKS ARE VERY EXPENSIVE USUALLY FOR A SEMESTER YOU MUST PLAN 500$ FOR IT AND THE INSURANCE OF BOSTON COLLEGE IS 470$
