Overall
I wish I had known...
That it is possible to live in a kollegium if one is a bit stubborn and keeps on insisting tries again and again and does not believe the affirmations of the responsibles.

Personal recommendation
Go in summer.

get used to 30min lunch brakes.
In case you do not want to hang out only with internationals live in a kollegium, do not participate in the introductory weekend.

Personal comments
I had some knowledge in Danish and wanted to learn a lot. However, the course available was for beginners (very much so) and after finding out about courses in Copenhagen I applied there. I was put in a good class but it took 4 !! months until there was a free space. After that it went a lot better.

Housing
Type of housing: With a family
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: kollegium
Why?
At a kollegium one is surrounded by mostly Danish students. This gives an insight into Danish culture and also facilitates learning the language. In addition, kollegiums are mostly near campus and transport time and costs are less.
