there's a lot of discounts for almost everything for students in lyon. lyonnais people are very very helpful and open-minded! you'll always find help when you need some. for travelling i'd recommend to visit montpellier - it's a really beautiful and cute student-town. take the TGV for travelling - when you're under 25 you'll get a lot of discounts. HOUSING
Personal assessment
Cost
KEY:
Couldn't have asked for more.
Pretty good.
Could've been better, but didn't lessen the overall experience.
Disappointing.
Facilities
Location
Cleanliness
Space
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? the student's residence was too far away from the city center and we were dependent on the very few buses that went downtown.
Personal comments:
in general i can say that we had a good housing atmosphere. you get easily into contact with other foreigners and you feel never alone. we had a piano room (for parties!!), a table-tennis-table and a babyfoot-table for our leisure time and the personnel was very very nice with us!

Activities, Nightlife: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment
Personal comments:
Café 203: cheap and really good food!!! you get a main plate, salad, dessert and a glass of wine for only EUR 10,50! L'Ambassade: nice house-club downtown
