KEY:
Couldn't have asked for more.
Pretty good.
Could've been better, but didn't lessen the overall experience.
Disappointing.
Facilities
Location
Cleanliness
Space
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? I am pleased with my living arrangements. My apartment is spacious, clean, energy efficient and near the university. The surrounding area is quiet and has all the expected conveniences. I also enjoy living in an individual apartment of my choice, but it was not a necessity.
Personal comments:
I'm not familiar with the housing provided by the school. However, the school has an agreement with an independent contractor that helps, for a fee, students find accommodations and other housing concerns. I purchased the services of the contractor; he made the process much easier and his fee was reasonable.

Language of instruction: English
Was learning English a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't.
Personal comments:
I do not have a background in French, I am at the beginner level. My courses, international business and strategies, are taught in English. However, I have not had trouble communicating with people in the school and the surrounding community.

EXPENSES
The accessibility of student needs

KEY:
Very easy.
Minimal effort.
Accessible but required effort.
Almost impossible.
Second-hand household items
Computers / Internet
Administrative
Money from home
Main source of funding:
Government assistance
Other sources of funding:
None
Work opportunities:
I didn't explore any work options
Personal spending habits:
The exchange rate of the US Dollar and the Euro effects the amount I spend on most items. Also, prices of common consumer goods are slightly higher in Clermont-Ferrand compared to Lawrence, Kansas.
Travel, Nightlife, Overall, Housing: was more expensive than at home.
Food, Telephone: was the same price as at home.
Personal comments:
The travel expenses in Europe surprised me. If you are over 25 years of age, travel will be expensive. Search extensively for special travel offers.
