Personal spending habits:
The cost to install a telefone line ist incredibly high! Apartment rent was expensive, everyday life was almost the same as at home, nightlife somestimes a bit more expensive ( depends on the place you go to )
Overall, Telephone, Housing: was more expensive than at home.
Travel, Nightlife: was the same price as at home.
Food: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
Check if you live in a part of BCN where they have other telefone providers than telefonica e.g. Meta ( could save ou a lot of money ), having an international student card can give you cheaper access to some sightseeing (e.g. Sagrada Familia)

Personal comments:
Every neighbourhood has one day in the month to put furniture outside, so that the cleaning service comes to pick it up. This is a way to find free furniture for your house. You will be surprised to see the good state most furniture is still in when people put it outside.
