Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
The university is not in the town centre, so it is much handier to live in a flat in the town centre, where all the shops and nighlife are.

Personal comments
ESSCA can help you find an appartment in the centre or on campus, which is what the vast majority of international students opt for. If you choose this option, you will find yourself living close by to other international students.

Languages
Language of instruction: French
Was learning French a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't.
How much did you improve your French?
My level before: Everyday knowledge (shopping, directions, etc.)
My level after: At ease in most situations
Language difficulties
Administrative / Institutional
Personal comments
My French definitely did improve, although it was a gradual experience. There were many opportunities to speak French at ESSCA, because there were many group projects. Outside of university, some locals were pleased to chat and interested in my origins.

I wish I had known...
My French bank account (societe generale) did not give me any interest, and charged me for statements.

In my opinion:
Everybody loved it, you will too!
Important factors in my choice
(1) Unimportant – (4) Very important
Personal recommendation
ESSCA has the ambiance of a school rather than a university. Therefore classes are quite small but this helps you to get to know the local French students and your tutors.
