HEC is a very organized university: we have fun in the Campus, exchange students feel confortable, but they push us in studying hard too, and they give us good opportunities FINAL COMMENTS
The experinnce I'm living is very important to me: I' m experiencing a lot about contacts with other people, about introducing myself in a totally new contest. This is not always easy to do and succeed, but I'm trying hard..International experiences are really TOTAL experiences: you learn about language, behaviour, attitude, culture, general culture, self esteem. HEC is one of the leading business school in Europe. The academical life is good and very french oriented. For international students at Graduate level, I will recommand to follow the major Management International. A trully international class with good professors. The rest, you will enjoy it. You should go there by car or at least know someone who owns one. The campus is really (!) far away from Paris and urban transportation systems are functioning, but you still have to go to the train station (which is anapprox. 20 min footwalk away) This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

I wish I would have known that rent was so high. also absence of kitchen in the dorm was an unpleasent surprise. And of course the time it takes to commute to Paris (from 40 min to 2 hours depending on strikes or construction works that happen way too often in France) In my opinion:

Do not have very high expectations! Learn some basic French to be able to get around. Apply for CAF the moment you arrive on campus (CAF is a student support for rent from French government, up to 200 euros per month, to apply go to the website www.caf.fr - there you would need your basic French by the way) This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

For all the tourists: usually 50% discount for students to buy museum tickets, plus check the schedule: free access on particular days to everyone. For students under 24 or 25: buy a special card => significant discounts for railway tickets. Use to plan your trip by train: http://www.voyages-sncf.com http://www.transilien.com/web/site Rent bikes at night!! I wish I had known...
I knew it, but you should also know that it's not Paris at all! It's 30 kms from Paris, which can be 1,5 hour without a car. So if you can, bring your car! And it's always raining!!! Brrrrrg.... :-( So don't forget your umbrella! But the campus is really nice and huge with a lake and so many sporting facilities. And it's fun! In my opinion:

Don't spend your weekends on campus. Travel around! France is a very nice country. If you want to know Paris better, you might want to rent a room in the capital. Going to & away from campus is a hassle if you don't have a car. I often hitchhicked from campus to Paris. But going back takes about 45min-1h with public transports if you know the train schedules!!! But campus life is great. You get to meet a lot of people!
