Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? The housing company Duwo will help foreign students with short stay housing and its the easiest way to find an apartment. IF you want to look for your own apartment you should be aware about the housing shortage in Amsterdam which has brought up the prices and down the space. Start looking at least 3 months in advance - especially during the summer
Personal comments:
I lived at Poeldijkstraat which is in the Oud zoud, close to the biggest central park - Vondelpark. The apartments are quite expensive compared to Sweden, but the location makes it worth it. Its not too far away from the school, and if you take the bike you will reach the city within 15 min. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why? All the exchange students are together so you can meet people from eveywhere in the world and the ambiance is just great!
Personal comments:
There are 3 buildings for the exchange students, two that are quite old and one brand new which is closer to the new school building. The two old ones can some times be quite disappointing but it is still okay to live there. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Type of housing: In student's hostel
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: in the same student's hostel
Why? more than 100 other exchange students lived in the same building, there is a party room available
Personal comments:
the student's hostel is a good (and maybe the only) option, as getting some other kind of private accommodation is nearly impossible (no flats, high prices) This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
