HOUSING
Personal assessment
Cost
KEY:
Couldn't have asked for more.
Pretty good.
Could've been better, but didn't lessen the overall experience.
Disappointing.
Facilities
Location
Cleanliness
Space
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? The housing company Duwo will help foreign students with short stay housing and its the easiest way to find an apartment. IF you want to look for your own apartment you should be aware about the housing shortage in Amsterdam which has brought up the prices and down the space. Start looking at least 3 months in advance - especially during the summer
Personal comments:
I lived at Poeldijkstraat which is in the Oud zoud, close to the biggest central park - Vondelpark. The apartments are quite expensive compared to Sweden, but the location makes it worth it. Its not too far away from the school, and if you take the bike you will reach the city within 15 min.

Overall
Describe host city: Students interact with the local community without much university involvement
Nightlife, Travel: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment
Activities: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment
Personal comments:
Vondel park in the summer-time, Melkweg (nightclub) if you like rock, Paradiso (nightclub) if you like pop, Baltazar (restaurant) for a great set-3 dish-menu in the Jordaan
