HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: International Student House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: International Student House
Why? You meet a lot of new people immediatelly after you arrive at the International Student House. Really warm atmosphere.
Personal comments:
There is an International Housing Office in Groningen, which provides accomodation for foreign students. If you get lucky you get a good room from an International student house. Rents are not cheap in Holland. It's better to live less than 5km from downtown and your faculty. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

EXPENSES
The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
Government assistance Other sources of funding:
Personal savings An ERASMUS grant Work opportunities:
I didn't want/need to work Personal spending habits:
I had to buy a prepaid SIM-card, which is not that cheap. Normally if I travel in Finland, I don't have to spend nights in hostels, I know how the system works, I know where to eat or drink out. When you travel in a foreign country, it's not always that cheap. Travel, Telephone: was more expensive than at home. Overall: was the same price as at home. Food, Nightlife, Housing: was less expensive than at home.

OVERALL
Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
can't think of any In my opinion:
Everybody loved it, you will too!
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
They could let international students to choose courses they would like to study. FINAL COMMENTS
travelling by train in Holland is a bit pricy, but you can buy a discount card, than it's gonna be 40% cheaper. Very important: apply for accomodation as early as possible, than you have more chances to get a nice room for a reasonable price. If you choose to live in international student house, apply for Moesstraat. It's definetelly the best place to live (location, social life, cost of rent).
