4.17 / 5 based on 228 reviews.
Description:
The university was founded in Berlin in 1810, and the foundation concept of Wilhelm von Humboldt gave it the title "Mother of all modern universities". This concept envisaged a "Universitas litterarum" which would achieve a unity of teaching and research and provide students with an all-round humanist education. This concept spread throughout the world and gave rise to the foundation of many universities of the same type over the next century and a half.

HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Home university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? Living in an appartement is the best solution in a city like Berlin. The costs are pretty good and normally you can find really nice accomodations. Living in a appartament, shared by other persons, is also a good opportunity to meet new people, from different cultures.
Personal comments:
The housing at the Humboldt was really good organised. The Erasmus office answered to all my requests and necessities with efficiency and in a kind way. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
The courses are extremely good organised. Language lessons are normally paid...not very expensive....the rest is free and you can find really all the subjects.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
arriving in Berlin without any knowledge of german language could be a problem if you want to follow the courses in the university. anyway, once you began the academic life you have to be follow all the lessons: the frequency is compusory 75%.
