EQUIS IAE Aix-en-Provence
Institut d'Administration des Entreprises, Aix-en-Provence, Clos Guiot - BP 33, 13540 Aix-en-Provence, France
3.85 / 5 based on 72 reviews.
Description:
IAE Aix is the only French public university entity to receive dual international accreditation: the European standard of excellence EQUIS in 1999, and the AMBA accreditation in 2004 for its MBA Change & Innovation, in 2005 for its Master's programmes and in 2007 for its Executive Part-time MBA and its Euro*MBA. Programme Highlight: MBA Change and Innovation Created in 2000 and accredited by the AMBA in 2004, the Change & Innovation MBA program offers a one-year, full-time programme delivered entirely in English. The MBA Change & Innovation approaches management complexity by preparing managers to integrate opposing dimensions: local and international, short-term and long-term, cooperation and competition, shareholder value and stakeholder value, practical tools and critical thinking. Albeit these management intricacies, the IAE Aix en Provence provides strategic understanding and tools to analyse, channel, implement and drive innovation within any type of organisation.

HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? I wouldn't be with the school anymore and wouldn't want to live on-campus.
Personal comments:
The doors where much bigger than what we're use to in the US. It was a very nice surprise. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
Accept that their way of doing things in school (the unwritten rules of behavior between professors and students) is much different from what we know in the US.
My opinion of the university assessment

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: English
Was learning English a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't. Personal comments:
In the university the students spoke English, but outside the school you had to know enough to get around. Try speaking their language first, and they'll work with you-they thinks its rude for americans to go over there and speak English expecting everyone to know what you're saying (and even if they know English they'll pretend they don't until you try to speak the language). EXPENSES
The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
Personal savings Other sources of funding:
Personal savings Work opportunities:
I didn't explore any work options Personal spending habits:
The food is cheap there and so is the wine, but bar drinks are incredibly expensive for nightlife. Housing was included in our package. We traveled all four weekends while we were there and buses, trains, hotels, and gifts got expensive. Travel, Nightlife, Overall, Telephone: was more expensive than at home. Food, Housing: was less expensive than at home.

OVERALL
Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
DO NOT PACK A LOT...even if you're there for a long time-its too much of a hassel to carry if you plan on traveling. In my opinion:
Everybody loved it, you will too!
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
It was an awesome experience and the IAE was very accepting of us. FINAL COMMENTS
This was the best experience and Prof Voss made it that much more exciting by showing us beautiful places not regularly visited-less touristy part of France. The field trips were great and the program is geared to you seeing and experiencing the culture instead of being stuffed inside doing school work. It was worth every penny and I'd gladly do it again without hesitation. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
