I went to Ireland with an intermediate level but I hardly understood the common lenguage. I could readed it and understand it, but I couldn't speak properly or understand english at the oral.

Because at home I don't pay for food, telephone or housing. I travelled more than in my home country.

Personal recommendation:
It was a good university, but it was difficult to find teachers! It was quite isolated and if you lose the 6pm bus you're 30min on foot to the city. There's boxing, aerobic lessons for free in South Campus.
