HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? it is independent and practical, with other exchange students, and very near the university.
Personal comments:
even though maybe overpriced for mexico, still cheaper than europe, and for someone who is new to town it is hard to find something independently. All housing offerd by the host university is located very close to the university, which is very important for mexico city. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

ACADEMIC
My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
there are very interesting courses, especially in international relations. economics is very mathematical. most of the courses are in spanish.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
there is no adecuate spanish language course for advanced levels, so beginners and advanced are put together in the same group. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: Spanish
Was learning Spanish a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my Spanish How much did you improve your Spanish?
My level before: At ease in most situations My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang) Personal comments:
a lot of interaction with locals, so you learn a lot to practice and use spanish daily. the language course at school has a mixed group of different levels, so it is hard to make progress. but you get some useful insights. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

EXPENSES
The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
Family Other sources of funding:
Joint study grant Work opportunities:
I didn't explore any work options Personal spending habits:
It is cheaper than in Europe in general, by far. But as I did more activities than at home, it summed up.(going out 3 times a week every week, and traveling every other weekend) Travel, Nightlife: was more expensive than at home. Overall, Telephone: was the same price as at home. Food, Housing: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
Always take your mexican student ID when traveling, as in a lot of tourist sights you will get free entrance. Also, during official summer and winter holidays, students get a 50% discount on buses around country. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
