Always take your mexican student ID when traveling, as in a lot of tourist sights you will get free entrance. Also, during official summer and winter holidays, students get a 50% discount on buses around country.

Everything was cheaper than Norway, except imported "luxury-goods" from Europe, as well as clothes from European Shops..In total we spent more on travelling and nightlife, but this only because we did it more :)

It is possible to find cheaper housing, but then it would be further away from the school, and transportation is very cheap..But it is much more of a hassle then..
phoning in Mexico (especcially with mobile) is very expensive
the housing was expensive regarding the Mexican standards
As a girl you always get invited by Mexicans when going out (less expensive)
because being in another country is experiencing another culture, includes travelling and going out much more that at home

Mexico is not a very expensive country, at least if you compare it to Italy..Neither travel is very expensive, but the thing is that I travelled a lot!
