As I said, some courses were in english, but it is very useful to know spanish, because many good courses are in spanish, as well as it is much easier to communiate with other people..I was kind of weak in spanish in the beginning, but the teachers and your fellow students respected it, and helped the foreign students along the way..And we improved a lot, also from a lot of social interaction with mexicans

Everyone can speak English at ITAM, but ot is best to make them speak to you in Spanish, try not to hang out with to many friends from home countries! But i am really pleased in how m,uch i progressed, i probably learnt more fom independent travel after my course!
At the beginning my command of Spanish was very poor, but since there was no other choiche than spaeking Spaninsh I had to speak it all day. In fact I liked it to be forced to speak ot, and have no reference with any european languages.

As an International Business Student my language skills in the local language were very technical and it was more the knowledge of every-day language (shopping, direction, social conversations, telling a story etc) that I had to acquire.

a lot of interaction with locals, so you learn a lot to practice and use spanish daily. the language course at school has a mixed group of different levels, so it is hard to make progress. but you get some useful insights.
