HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? Because you get to share with 'locals' and this way you gain a better understanding of the culture.
Personal comments:
ITAM does not have any 'on-campus' accomodation, as most people live at home or rent privately, however they will do their utmost to place you in a shared apartment with other students, usually a shared house or apartment (single-sex) the international office at ITAM is really helpful and the staff able to advise. If you want to find your own accommodation that is also possible but note it is difficult to find short-term lets, like in any city. The costs vary but cheap compared to Europe - it is best to choose to location over cost, as you don't want to be far away from the uni. STUDENT LIFE
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Students interact with the local community without much university involvement
Activities: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment Nightlife, Travel: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment Personal comments:
Best places to habg out in Mexico City are in the Condesa Colonia - there is a Cuban bar called Mama Rumba, there are lots of clubs - la bom - M$30 for girls and drink all u want. Also lots of bars/cinem in San Angel, Coyaocan. Make sure you travel outside Mexico City This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: Spanish
Was learning Spanish a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my Spanish How much did you improve your Spanish?
My level before: Everyday knowledge (shopping, directions, etc.) My level after: At ease in most situations Personal comments:
Everyone can speak English at ITAM, but ot is best to make them speak to you in Spanish, try not to hang out with to many friends from home countries! But i am really pleased in how m,uch i progressed, i probably learnt more fom independent travel after my course! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

OVERALL
Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
The Mexican people are lovely! In my opinion:
Everybody loved it, you will too!
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
Go and be surprised, this univeristy is private and therefore only the top 20% of wealthy mexicans can afford it, but enjoy the experience and rememeber the other 80% of the country are very poor. Try and get involved in voluntary work while you are there, just go and do it - you'll love it! FINAL COMMENTS
Mexico City is like any big city, take care and listen to the locals - just use your common sense. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
