Academic
Course recommendations
Be carefull with the "European Credit Transfer" because you´re able, either to make a real good business in terms of Credits Transfer when you´re back home or either to really loose dummly the complete academic year abroad.Read CAREFULLY and slowly the terms, the conditions, what subject is able to be transfered whrn you´re back to your home University.Normally teachers don´t help very much neither at home, neither at the Host University and the student finally just picks up whatever subject because the classes start right away...and there come the problems!

Personal comments
I dont recommend anyone...ANYONE! to ever ever go to Germany unless they´re able to make themselves pretty much understood. It´s a hard country and hard people to get along with but if you spaeak the language you´re able to get in touch with them and maybe, only maybe to get to know a german.

Overall
I wish I had known...
Just m)ore administration info.About how it worked in the Uni there, the credit european transfer (I think is important and they just don´t care to muche about explaining it at home or at the host Uni). The conditions of the place.I mean if they would of tell us that it was just a forgotten little tiny noring closed minded village from the inner Germany, most of us wouldn´t of gone there. We would of try to go to Berlin or a bigger nicer place.Or,I might as well just gone for 6 months but not for the whole complete year!

In my opinion:
Stay home.
Important factors in my choice
(1) Unimportant – (4) Very important
Personal recommendation
Only for hard working students that want to really fight to get a place in the difficult elitist translation-interpretation world. It´s a good place to work hard but also to learn like hell.

During my experience abroad, I ...
(1) Never – (4) A lot
Became familiar with another culture
Met people from other countries
Experienced a change in life
Advanced my studies & career
Final comments
Again, try to fix the most things before leaving and insist in the Erasmus Office of your home Uni and specially with your tutor (he will be the one to give you the marks when you´re back) to get info, info, info

Expenses
Main source of funding:
Government assistance
Other sources of funding:
Family
An ERASMUS grant
Work opportunities:
I didn't explore any work options
Personal spending habits
Gas for the car is slightly more expensive and I used to move with it so...Publi transport is just unbearable expensive in Germany in comparison to Spain and not very brilliant in terms of little villages communication and swichts from one station to the other. The Student European card is almost useless or with cynical discounts.

Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why?
At the beginning i tried it out in a single room with a little kitchen in a kind of Social protected and Student Neighbourhood...really depressing and more expensive than the Campues place...so the second semester (I was there for 2) I went to live to the Campues area and things improved:more people, more friends, much nicer ambience.

It was not bad really. The main problem of the Erasmus scholarship is the money we get:absurd! So the monthly rent for the room at the Campues which was,in fact, 200 sthg euros, turn to be too much for any of us in a way.But you already know about this money "problem" when you sign down for an Erasmus!
