The local dialect "Oberösterreichisch" was pretty hard to understand. I was lucky to get known many austrian people, who were so nice, that they tought me their local language, so that I could understand them in their everyday life.

Linz has many good teachers, and a plenty of nice courses. If you already got known with the campus, you'll easily find the best courses, which you probably don't have at your home university.

I can give some travel tips:
You can travel a lot in Austria, and also in other neighbour countries, as Hungary, Czech Republik, Germany, and Italy. Don't miss to travel a lot in the country, and you should go sking!
Don't worry, if you don't understand the local dialect...it's terrible, but you can learn it!
