HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? There was a great atmosphere. We were placed in appartments of three students, all mixed nationalities, including Finnish. Erasmus is a great for getting to know different habits and cultures from all around the world.
Personal comments:
See 4. The quality you get for this price is amazing. In holland i payed almost double for less. The flats consist of three sperate bedrooms, a kitchen, hallway and a large bathroom. There is also a common room, fitness area and a sauna in EACH building. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

STUDENT LIFE
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Student life dominates the city
Activities: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment Nightlife: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment Travel: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
Kharma & Gigglin' Marlin are two of the biggest clubs. Go to the sportsbar to watch icehockey/football matches on big screens. Go watch a hockeymatch in the icehockey stadium! Play icehockey yourself on the numerous icehockey fields outside. Make trips, go to Lapland, Sweden, Russia etc... This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

ACADEMIC
My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
Try to find courses with good lecturers (You should aks the local students). I had one course where the lecturer just sad down behind an overhead projector, talking really slowly and even chewing gum while giving the lecture... you should try to avoid such a course :O)

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: English
Was learning English a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't. How much did you improve your English?
My level before: No problems in any areas (including slang) My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang) Personal comments:
The local language, Finnish, is an extremely difficult language to learn. I participated in two beginner courses, which gave me the ability to communicate in basic phrases and to continue learning by talking to locals. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

I didn't explore any work options Personal spending habits:
I made many trips ( Stockholm, Lapland, Moscow, St. Petersburg) and going out is a lot more expensive than in The Netherlands. Food, Travel, Nightlife, Overall: was more expensive than at home. Telephone, Housing: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
When friends come to visit you tell them to bring good meat and alcoholic drinks, since they are much more expensive in Finland. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
