Course recommendations:
Well, I'm not an ordinary student. I'm learning german in a school (Vorstudentlergang), which is a prerequisite before learning at the University. I have 5 hours german a day, and the courses are really well done. Regarding the University itself, I know that it's hard sometimes to get the courses you want because of too many demands (students are queuing since 4 in the morning!!!!), but the communication with teachers (the good ones of course!) is really good.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
There is really too many papers to fill in! But this is not only regarding the academic life! That's the way it is, we have to get used to it! It's only 2 months I'm here, but everything is wonderful the hard start! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Check with your home university before going to get a list of courses that have transfered in the past and try to match those up with current courses offered that are of interest and use to you personally.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
Take the more challenging courses, even if you are unsure of your chances of succeeding. The professors are pretty good about giving more slack to exchange students (since they know they don't have to actually give you a diploma at the end of your studies). move very quick and start thinking of them as soon as possible, from your home country possibly. Then, attendance is very important for some courses and teachers give a strong attention to your presence and to your interaction during the course. Be active!
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
Just.. if you have some essays or kind of "homeworks", do them soon after your lessons and live your Erasmus student life after it. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Do a lot of courses. Otherwise you will be bored. As an exchange student you are not under that much pressure so it is a good idea to pick up something completely new for your spare time like a new language.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
the system of ects credits was never really properly explained to me at the beginning so I wasn't sure how many courses to take, I just had to figure it out myself. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

I decided to choose pretty many courses in the beginnig and after a while a quited the courses that didn´t interest me or I didn´t have enough time.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
It was pretty hard to do the exams because the time limit was rather strict compared to my home university. Bitte, mehr Zeit für ERASMUS-Studierende.. :) This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

For languages students, try not to stay in one "Fakultät" -go to the English building for English courses, to the translation building for translation courses, and so on..

Course recommendations:
It is best to first visit the course a few times before deciding which course to take. The level of the language-courses that are open to all students is very low.If you want to attend a seminar, make sure that you can speak German pretty good. They expect you to participate actively.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
It would be better if the shedules were more complete. Some courses that were on the shedule weren´t thaught in the wintersemester and the roomnumbers and the hours weren´t always correct. It would also be better if the examsystem were less chaotic. Sometimes I didn´t know the exact date of the exam two weeks before it would take place. It is hard to make a proper planning that way. Choose as many as possible at the beginning so that you can drop the ones you don't like later on in the semester. Otherwise you can end up being stuck in boring or badly organised courses which you have to finish to get the required points for each semester
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
It would be a good idea for students from British universities coming to study in Austria to be prepared for two semesters of near total academic freedom. It can be disorientating and lead to unproductiveness for those used to more supervision. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
You have one semester to do the project, so don't do it the last week otherwise you won't even have time to sleep! But it doesn't take so much time either. And don't forget you're not there to stay with your books all the time: you can do that at home. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

First take more courses than you plan to pass so you can later drop the ones you don't like. Oral exams were better for me, because at my home university we have more time to write the exams than in Graz, so I really didn't have enough time to write everything down in German in like 20-30 mins.

Could be more oral exams. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
