HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? Because it was just perfect this way: dowtown, hudge apartment, nice people around
Personal comments:
The professors were very kind to the erasmus people and tried to help us as much as they could. We also had 'tutors'. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

STUDENT LIFE
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Student life dominates the city
Activities: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment Nightlife, Travel: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
They are plenty of cafes. All of them are always full. There is also the Erasmus stammtisch once a week, but I know it's not where it used to be: they tell us at the welcoming party. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
The subjects change every year, it's hard to give any recommendations about the courses
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
You have one semester to do the project, so don't do it the last week otherwise you won't even have time to sleep! But it doesn't take so much time either. And don't forget you're not there to stay with your books all the time: you can do that at home. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: German
Was learning German a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my German How much did you improve your German?
My level before: At ease in most situations My level after: At ease in most situations Personal comments:
The big problem in Graz is the austrian "Dialekt". It's really hard to understand. Most of the professors speak standard german but many students don't and I had trouble to understand them when they made their presentations. Even the Germans complained about it... EXPENSES
The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
Family Other sources of funding:
An ERASMUS grant Work opportunities:
I didn't explore any work options Personal spending habits:
I didn't have to pay for the phone or the accommodation at home... The night life is very important in Graz, you have to go out at night. I travelled a lot because we were closed to Budapest, Venice, Vienna, Salzburg, Ljubjana and so on...There are many opportunities to travel cheap but it still costs at lot at the end. But you have to do it. Travel, Nightlife, Overall, Telephone, Housing: was more expensive than at home. Food: was the same price as at home.
Personal comments:
I could get more than 4000 schillings/week with my visa card. Ask your bank before you leave the country This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

OVERALL
Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
not really. I was very satisfied and did it again in the USA In my opinion:
Everybody loved it, you will too!
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
It is really the right place to meet people from everywhere in the world and to party all the time, but I think the language can be a problem because it's not really the one you learned at home before! FINAL COMMENTS
Some people didn't come back to their home countries... Just to give you an idea of how we all loved it! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
