as most of the students live in ryd herrgarn is the first adress to go - also for the reasonable beer prices - on wednesday flamman serves great burger and jazz life music AND it has free entrance for exchange students all the week. downtown nationernas house is ok and there are also some non student places. but i spent most of my time in Herrgarn - international pub on tuesdays!

Personal recommendation
The ESN is really good organised they will help you with most of your problems. Students life is very different to Germany and really great... lots of special parties and activities like kravall, SOF, ELINpiaden. Communication with the teacher and administration (international coordinator) is pretty good and you get a lot of help with everything.

If you are open to get along with new people you will have a great time and maybe make some life long friendships. Try to travel as much as you can the country is great, dont be to shocked about the prices you will get used to it!

Academic
Course recommendations
make up your mind if you just want to study for some credits or the expewrience or if you really want to learn something... i got the feeling that some of the courses where more to "entertain" the exchange students... but if thats what you are looking for you will have a great time!
