HOUSING
by jlapierre, Ecole Nationale d'Ingénieurs de Tarbes, Tarbes, France
Engineering, Erasmus
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: With a family
Why? i missed to be in contact with a swedish family during my stay
Personal comments:
Sharing kitchen and living room with other exchange students or people was interesting; but it might be hard to keep it clean if you are unlucky with the people you are. But the housing is perfect and a nice way by bike (10 min) to go to the university This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

STUDENT LIFE
by Romain, Institut Commercial de Nancy, Nancy, France
Management Science, Erasmus
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Student life dominates the city
Activities: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment Nightlife, Travel: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
If you are here only for one semester, try to choose the first one because the first two weeks (start mid-august) are integration weeks (Nolleperioden) and they are the best way to have fun and to meet other people! For the nightlife, Kåren (the university's nightclub) is not bad but you better take a cab to go downtown at Cleo (open all the year) or Grace (open only during summer). My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
The e-commerce program had to select one more technical course for the program.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
Although group projetcs/essays are something where everyone should cooperate but if anyone does not then it's really hard to complete the job. Furthermore, it is better to cover that job too with own interest and finish the job in time. In my program i have heard from many other coursemet that their project partners did nothing in the projetcs and had to work fully alone. But we do not have any project evaluation process to justify the group work. We should have it. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Yes, I wanted to improve my English Was learning Swedish a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my Swedish How much did you improve your English?
My level before: Everyday knowledge (shopping, directions, etc.) My level after: At ease in most situations How much did you improve your Swedish?
My level before: Did not speak it My level after: Basic phrases Personal comments:
The language of the host country was not that necessary in everyday situation. Therefore I didn't learn it a lot. The language of the university (before coming I had everyday knowledge of english) improved quite a lot my previous knowledge. I feel, I gained there a lot of experience according to english language. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
Family Other sources of funding:
Government assistance An ERASMUS grant Work opportunities:
I didn't explore any work options Personal spending habits:
Meet is more expensive than in France. You don't need to call anybody, we all live next to eachothers. You don't have any help to pay your rent. You have so much to see, you have to travel!!! Food, Travel, Overall, Housing: was more expensive than at home. Nightlife: was the same price as at home. Telephone: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
Sweden has its own currency, when the exchange rate is low, try to convert a lot of money in crowns! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
If you live in Vänortsvägen, you will share a flat, it is not a problem but I wish I had knew before going there. In my opinion:
Everybody loved it, you will too!
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
If you have the possibility to come one year but you are afraid to do so, come anyway one semester and after 2 months, you will do whatever it takes to stay the next semester! ;o) FINAL COMMENTS
LURC people, wich takes care of you when you arrive, organise lots of trips (Storforsen, Santa Claus' Village on Finland, etc.). But take a look at the STIL (sport association) because they also offer some (Orca Safari's Trip in Norway, Skiing trips, etc.) This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
