Describe host city: Student life dominates the city
Activities, Nightlife: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment Travel: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
The first thing you have to do at the beginning of your stay you have to get a member of a students Nation!!! That are the areas where the parties are going on. I think all over Lund there must be around 15 or more Nations. It is similar to a social club which is run by students. There a students rooms to stay, always a disco, Café, Restaurant and a lot of activities!!! Join them it is fun!! All over Lund there a lot of nice Cafés and Rstaurants. One thing I have really enjoyed there, was the "Dagens Lunch" nearly every restaurant has some specials for Lunch they are cheap and always delicious and a good alternative to the University Cafeteria. Another possibility is to join one of the students Nations for Lunch, students are cooking for students, cheap and good. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Describe host city: Student life dominates the city
Activities, Nightlife: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment Travel: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
The majority of night life is organised by the university into 'nation' of which there are thirteen. All these are different in their own way but the most popular were VastGöta on wednesdays and Hallands on fridays. Not to be missed. There are also other bars in Lund such as cafe ariman and hercules which always had a great atmosphere on the weekends. However for the cheapest night out, nations were the best. the student nations are absolutely fabulous places to go out to! Nice student atmosphere and affordable beer prices! Västgöta Nation offers free entrance to members. For travelers: Stockholm is a most wonderful city and the best traveling experience I had in Sweden was my trip up north, to Kiruna. Did some dogsledding and Northern Lights watching... Amazing! Going out in Lund as a student means mostly going to one of the many student nations. These are kind of student fraternities which organize all kind of activities (sports, parties...). Each nation has its own building and party local. So don't miss to go there! One of my favourite nations was 'Wermlands'. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

The nations in Lund are probably the main places where nightlife happens. Nations are student societies to which anyone can apply. They organize every kind of activities and have their own clubs, where they organize parties one or two times per week. I warmly suggest to become a member of one of them. Absolutely every student goes out in so called nations, the local student organizations run by students. You are member of one, but you can join any party or activity of all of them (about 12 as far as i can remember). My favorite was Östgöta, cos most exchanges students went there. Describe host city: Students equally interact with the local and student community
Activities, Nightlife: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment Travel: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment Personal comments:
Events are mainly hold by international students which is a bummer because we don't have so much opportunities to interact with native students. They are closed in that sense. I definitely wouldn't recommend cafes here because they are low quality. If you must, try espresso house; expensive but totally worth it. The nations in Lund are open for every student and are the only clubs were you can drink for a normal price (Sweden has high taxes on alcohol, so the cafes are very expensive). A lot of activities are organised by and for students, and there are too many to give examples!! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

All the nations are a must for students in Lund. For cafes I would also recommend the nations cafes, and a lot of students go to Arimans for coffee. I greatly recommend Stortorget for cafes. One of my favourite spots is the botanical garden, cannot be missed in spring! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
