Personal comments
The majority of night life is organised by the university into 'nation' of which there are thirteen. All these are different in their own way but the most popular were VastGöta on wednesdays and Hallands on fridays. Not to be missed. There are also other bars in Lund such as cafe ariman and hercules which always had a great atmosphere on the weekends. However for the cheapest night out, nations were the best.

Personal comments
The housing was of a good standard, however it was lacking certain facilties such as internet access which came as standard with the other halls of residence available in Lund. In addition the housing I was given was with all other international students which was useful in meeting people and understanding other cultures better. On the other hand more contact with native swedish people would have been beneficial in developing the language for conversational purposes. Overall the housing was spacious and of good quality.

Personal comments
I took part in 3 courses organised by the Folksuniversitet in Lund studying Swedish. These were of use for conversation however as all locals spoke almost fluent English it was not a problem and was to an extent difficult to practice Swedish at times. Together with the fact that my courses were taught in English also. Communication was therefore very easy for me.

Government assistance
Other sources of funding:
Personal savings<br> An ERASMUS grant

I didn't explore any work options
Personal spending habits
The main reason for spending more in Sweden than in England was due to the price differences. The cost of living was significantly higher than at home. Together with the fact that I took opportunity to travel around sweden whilst being thus spending more on travel expenses.

Academic
Course recommendations
The courses were of a good standard and enabled me to understand a little more abour Swedish culture in organisations. The lecturers frequently made refernce to Swedish industry examples and gave insight into the 'Swedish' philosophy of conducting business.

Personal comments
There was a strong emphasis on group work, which I enjoyed however, the assignments often fell around the same time and therefore was made more difficult. Perhaps staggering coursework dates if possinle would be better.
