Lunds Universitet review by Jeroen
HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: House for international students- off campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: International student house
Why? Because it was a very good placement for me, a lot of international students integrating with eachother!
Personal comments:
The housing policy of Lunds Universitet is very well organized, almost everybody got a house around the city and lived with local students or international students. If something should be arranged for you, let it to the swedes, they're very meticulous and want everything to be arranged perfectly! STUDENT LIFE
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Student life dominates the city
Activities, Nightlife, Travel: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment Personal comments:
The nations in Lund are open for every student and are the only clubs were you can drink for a normal price (Sweden has high taxes on alcohol, so the cafes are very expensive). A lot of activities are organised by and for students, and there are too many to give examples!! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
This year a lot of courses were cancelled due to cut-backs, but normally there should be more courses available, which regard to my area of study
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
Like I said before, the choice of courses could be bigger! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Was learning English a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my English Was learning Swedish a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my Swedish How much did you improve your English?
My level before: At ease in most situations My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang) How much did you improve your Swedish?
My level before: Did not speak it My level after: Basic phrases Personal comments:
The main language I spoke in Lund was English. English has never been a big deal for me since I am educated in english since I was eight years old. But since I had to speak English everyday and could speak to native English speakers I observed some big improvements in my English language skills! And a big compliment for the Swedes, who speak English normally even better than me! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

OVERALL
Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
No, I appreciated the surprise of arriving in a country with knowing only very important things! I had no unpleasant surprises In my opinion:
Most people loved it.
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
I can recommend Lunds Universitet to everybody, because everything is good arranged for International Students, the courses was very good taken care of and the University buildings are really beautiful!! it works on your imagination! FINAL COMMENTS
Final Comments: Scandinavia offers you beautiful nature and wilderness! When you study in Lund you have the opportunity to see a lot of it and I can recommend it to everybody. I travelled a lot in Scandinavia and have seen beautiful things. One final tip for this, take the train to stockholm visit the city a couple of days and go from there to helsinki by boat. Not very far from Helsinki is Talinn situated and this city is worth taking a look! Travelling by boat saves you money for hostels (night boats) and is a nice experience!
