Final Comments: Scandinavia offers you beautiful nature and wilderness! When you study in Lund you have the opportunity to see a lot of it and I can recommend it to everybody. I travelled a lot in Scandinavia and have seen beautiful things. One final tip for this, take the train to stockholm visit the city a couple of days and go from there to helsinki by boat. Not very far from Helsinki is Talinn situated and this city is worth taking a look! Travelling by boat saves you money for hostels (... Read Review

HOUSING
Personal assessment
Cost
KEY:
Couldn't have asked for more.
Pretty good.
Could've been better, but didn't lessen the overall experience.
Disappointing.
Facilities
Location
Cleanliness
Space
Type of housing: House for international students- off campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: International student house
Why? Because it was a very good placement for me, a lot of international students integrating with eachother!
Personal comments:
The housing policy of Lunds Universitet is very well organized, almost everybody got a house around the city and lived with local students or international students. If something should be arranged for you, let it to the swedes, they're very meticulous and want everything to be arranged perfectly!

STUDENT LIFE
Personal social experience
Activities
KEY:
Amazing! Hardly had time to study.
Plenty to do when I had the time.
So-so.
Did not get involved.
Nightlife
Travel
Overall
Describe host city: Student life dominates the city
Activities, Nightlife, Travel: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment
Personal comments:
The nations in Lund are open for every student and are the only clubs were you can drink for a normal price (Sweden has high taxes on alcohol, so the cafes are very expensive). A lot of activities are organised by and for students, and there are too many to give examples!!

Didn't like it.

Language of instruction: English

Was learning Swedish a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my Swedish
How much did you improve your English?
My level before: At ease in most situations
My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang)
How much did you improve your Swedish?
My level before: Did not speak it
My level after: Basic phrases
Personal comments:
The main language I spoke in Lund was English. English has never been a big deal for me since I am educated in english since I was eight years old. But since I had to speak English everyday and could speak to native English speakers I observed some big improvements in my English language skills! And a big compliment for the Swedes, who speak English normally even better than me!
