If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? It's easier to be on campus for the first time you traval abraod, because it helps you a lot: you don't have to worry for a lot of things. I personnaly spent only a quarter in the dorms. First because it was quite expensive and then becauseit can be hard to really work efficiently when you're in the dorms. So i took an appartmeent out of campus (but still close) with 4 other students.
Personal comments:
The place was ok, it was pretty clean, not great (especially for the price!!) but ok. My main problem was actually my roomate with whom I had no common interest!! But the experience was overall a good experience and I keep a good souvenir of it!

If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? I had an excellent experience in sharing an appartment with my friends. Now I know the difficulties too of taking care of an appartment yourself, I think it is really worth it since you have complete independence in every way.
Personal comments:
Since I chose my accomodation independently, in an appartment off-campus I cannot judge the dorms. However, from their outside appearance they did look nice, and pretty new buildings for the most part.
