HOUSING

Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Home university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? I can get my own place to live and do whatever I want.
Personal comments:
It was pretty good. I was living with 7 other people in a student village, but I had my own room and living with some other people would helped me make friends with a lot of people. There were a lot of parties on weekends there so I never got bored. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

STUDENT LIFE
by Daniel-Richard, Universität Innsbruck, Innsbruck, Austria
Marketing and Sales Management, Erasmus
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Students equally interact with the local and student community
Travel: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment Activities, Nightlife: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
There are a lot of nice cafes, bars and restaurants. Oslo offers a great selection of different places to go. It is just to know where to go because the prices differs from place to place. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
We had 10 out of 15 mandatory courses, and the 5 electives should be among the one offered for our program, so there is not so much to choose, but the one offered are very interesting and relevant for the course. Still, there are some electives offered for all master students, but it is quite reasonable to follow the program instead of wondering of since it is a specialization.

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: English
Local language was: Different than language of instruction.
Was learning English a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't. Was learning the local language a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my knowledge How much did you improve your English?
My level before: At ease in most situations My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang) How much did you improve your local language?
My level before: Did not speak it My level after: Basic phrases Personal comments:
English is a language largely spoken by everybody in Norway, so no language barrier appeared during my stay there. Norwegian is a particularly difficult language to learn, in my opinion, and the host university didn't put to much interest in assuring Norwegian courses for its foreign students. None Work opportunities:
I worked during my study abroad experience Personal spending habits:
I wanted to explore Norway and have a social life with the exchange student, so I travelled and went out more than an ordinary student usually does. And it was deffinitely worth doing. Besides that Norway is realtively expensive country. Travel, Nightlife, Overall: was more expensive than at home. Food, Telephone, Housing: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
Travelling in Norway is very expensive -I recommend to inform about all travel discounts immediatelly in the beginning. Cycling in spring and summer is the best way of the local transportation. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
