finnish language is very hard but the ILPC course helped a lot before my course started. Most people speak some segree of english so you won't be stuck if you can speak a bit of english. even if you think it's not too good.

make home brewed wine and drink before you go out instead of spending so much in bars. and check second hand shops when you need something. there are loads of them.

try ryanair for flights as they have just started flying more routes. don't be scared to get in with other students and have a luagh. everybody is nervous to start with.

not to be missed in august - the world air guitar championships. mosr night spots are much the same. not as big or varied as the UK. also expect t pay about €4 for a beer
