HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? The university does not have any student accommodation.
Personal comments:
There is none! However, renting an apartment was a wonderful way of living like a local and getting to know the city. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

STUDENT LIFE
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Students interact with the local community without much university involvement
Nightlife, Travel: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment Activities: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
Where do I start?! So many great places - Bar Liguria in Providencia for a wonderfully atmospheric and bustling restaurant, Los Insatiables in Providencia for all-you-can-eat sushi, and La Vaca Gorda in Barrio Brasil for an Argentinian feast. For nightlife, avoid Suecia - it's a dirty, over-priced tourist trap - and head to the bars on Manuel Montt. For nightlife, Blondie is a real experience or else try Subterraneo for something more funky. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
I took a language class, which was very helpful, and also enjoyed discovering Latin American Literature. To meet Chilean students, sports classes like Mountaineering are incredible.

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: Spanish
Was learning Spanish a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my Spanish How much did you improve your Spanish?
My level before: Did not speak it My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang) Personal comments:
I arrived with nothing. I went home reasonably fluent, and still keep in contact with university friends. What more can you ask?! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

OVERALL
Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
A more comprehensive understanding of the Chilean education system would have helped. In my opinion:
Everybody loved it, you will too!
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
It's absolutely fantastic - great location, good facilities, internationally respected, thoroughly enjoyable. FINAL COMMENTS
As the terms run from August-December, then March-June, make sure you make the most of that huge December-March summer holiday and travel all you can. Sports clubs are a great way of making local friends. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
