The first weeks are difficult, you miss your family your friends, different language, culture, etc.. but after a few weeks you won't want to go back... trust me!! As soon as you arrive, start to plan a trip, see other coutries, with the people that you will know... use the low costs, airplaines, Bus, Train, etc, just check all and see the most advantage for you, and sleep on hostels, bus, train stations... believe me, you will do things that you can even imagine... HOUSING
Personal assessment
Cost
KEY:
Couldn't have asked for more.
Pretty good.
Could've been better, but didn't lessen the overall experience.
Disappointing.
Facilities
Location
Cleanliness
Space
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why? Because it was a truly wonderful experience, to be able to share all that moments with so different persons, but at the same time so equal. We all have our differences, culture and personal, but we are there with the same propose, and living on a Campus, sharing sometimes the same space, making dinners, parties, etc, just make us live more intensely that great experience, and it get us more close, it make us a family, that share the same

Amazing! Hardly had time to study.

So-so.
Did not get involved.
Nightlife
Travel
Overall
Describe host city: Students interact with the local community without much university involvement
Travel: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment
Activities, Nightlife: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment
Personal comments:
The night clubs in Caen, are not that great, but they have a place called "What's Cafe" is a nice place. Everyone goes to Paris, I went, and is great, but you also have to go to "Mont S.Michel, that is a cathedral\city of the middle age, that is on the middle of the sea, on the night it get surrounded by the sea.. Is just wonderful!! And still in France you have in each city something to see, they have old buildings in each city, amassing Cathedrals, on Summer you can go to the south, to the region "Côte d'Azur", that have wonderful beaches, warm water, nice place for summer vacations..

Language of instruction: French
Was learning French a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't.
How much did you improve your French?
My level before: Did not speak it
My level after: Basic phrases
Personal comments:
I went to France, but it was supposed to study in English, but once there, I decided to do in French, because they said that was pretty easy to learn the basics, and I had French lessons, on my 8th and 9th grade, I didn't remember nothing, but I decided to take the risk, on order to learn one more language. But in the end my only French words, were the ones that I learn on the classes, I had facilities on understating French because some words are similar to my native language, Portuguese, so I didn't effort the maximum as I could. Out of the classes I spook English, with, mostly, my Australians friends. Basically I learned the basic French, and improve my English.
