Location
Cleanliness

Type of housing:
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? the cost of living in Madrid is fairly inexpensive, and so is renting an apartment
Personal comments:
the housing was nice in that it was great for meeting international students, but the rules that the university have are too restrictive. in the dorms, for example, one is not allowed to have visitors of any kind, and the students are monitored unnecesarily by cameras, not for security, but to be checked on for breaking rules

Overall
Describe host city: Students interact with the local community without much university involvement
Nightlife, Travel: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment
Activities: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment
Personal comments:
for the bohemian side of Madrid, with many interesting bars go to metro Tribunal. also near to metro Anton Martin you will find amazing live jazz clubs, salsa clubs, and a nice arabaic tea room....but there are so many places in Madrid to explore, you will find very easily

it is easy to be immersed into the Spanish language in Madrid, because not so many Spainards speak English, so it forces you to practice, which is good
