HOUSING

Personal assessment
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? Costs in China are very cheap. Any foreigners or foreign students can afford it.
Personal comments:
The housing at this university was on my own, I had to take care of my room. It was very cheap and easy to get a room. I was with other foreign students. It was pretty simple to get to lectures because I was quiet close to the teaching buildings. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
We did not have a lot of choice...but the coursework was highly relevant to our living situations. We also had an independent project that we did, completely based on our own interests.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
You have to make the effort to get out and meet local students. Usually we were segregated. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: English
Local language was: Different than language of instruction.
Was learning English a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't. Was learning the local language a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my knowledge How much did you improve your local language?
My level before: Did not speak it My level after: Basic phrases Personal comments:
live in Shanghai is quiet difficult when we do not speak Chinese because Chinese people can only speak Chinese. In the University, all the students could speak English, so it was easier to communicate with people. But I did follow Chinese courses but not enough to speak well Chinese. I needed more lessons.
