HOUSING
by Bérengère, ESCE, Paris, France
Marketing and Sales Management, Erasmus
Personal assessment
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why? Living on campus when you are a foreign student is very good to meet people and to learn living on its own without any parents.
Personal comments:
My accomodation named Mac Laren House was next to my university (about 2 minutes on foot). It was organized in appartments of 7 rooms with one big kitchen. All the rooms were quite small but they had its own bathroom and toilets which was quite appreciable. The rooms were clean when I arrived whereas it was not the case for the kitchen. If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why? You can interact with all the other students, if that´s what you look for.
Personal comments:
Despite the high fare, sharing a flat of the halls of residence with other five international students was good fun. I feel curious about what living somewhere else, with standard londonners (if they exist at all!), would have been like, but I´m happy to have lived by the uni, that entails quite a number of advantages. Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? I would be independant and have my own place.
Personal comments:
However it was a pretty good place because I was in central London and it was really easy to do everything. The shopping food, the bus station and the university were close to the residence. Moreover the residence atmosphere was very good. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Why? The campus was very close to the university and living in such an accomodation is quite interesting.
Personal comments:
There are a few campus belonging to South Bank university. Each campus has its own characteristics (price, space, facilities...) and the proposed service is high-quality. My residence, located near Elephant and Castle, was very pleasant and ideal to study in a good atmosphere This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Why? At campus there were many rules as to what you could and could not do. It seemed to be better for younger students. I lived in a house with other unviversity students and we helped each other and did things together.
Personal comments:
The rooms seemed fine but as mentioned above the rules were made for younger students. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Why? It's cheaper to rent a room and easier to find. If I can offer a flat for two people (me and a flatmate), it will be perfect.
Personal comments:
I enjoyed to live with english people and foreigners. I discovered the culture of each others and we spent a nice time all together. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
