Personal comments
For a portuguese (and as a southern european in general) I found a bit difficult to learn danish. The pronounciation is really difficult. With the help of the Course in Danish I managed to learn a few words. But it was outside the course that I learned the words I used the most, such as "skall". :)

Final comments
My semester (Spring 2003) was great! All the 70 foreign students at the ASB knew each other very well, we all went to parties toghether and we still comunicate... We have meetings each others countries and we created a great community. The school makes an excellent job promoting this social experience. The tutors are also great! They help you a lot... Travel with Ryanair to other countries. Book in advance. It is quite cheap. If you stay is Stockholm please stay at the Red Boat! Book in advance! Be sociable, make danish friends. It will be worth it. If you want to get laid, go to Train (you must be over 23 to get in, sorry...). Get a bike. Although the buses are great, always on time, they are quite expensive! Arrange a visit to Ceres, the local beer factory. They give you free beer at the end. Believe me, you will literally roll down the lawn (personally tested). The weather is not the best. But do not stay at home. Socialize. Arrange parties at your place, go to parties in the other students residences! From January to the end of February I just had a glimpse of the sun 6 times. Yes, you can count by your fingers the times you see the sun in the Winter. However, the Spring is awesome, beautiful.

Course recommendations
Choose many courses initially because if you dont like them you can cancel them later. After the (short) deadline, you cannot apply for any course. Choose the courses that will guarantee you the most available time during your stay in Aarhus. It will be worth it. I just studied in the last 3 weeks of the exchange and I had a 9, a 10 and an 11. Great grades in the danish scale...

Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why?
It is much better to live with lots of other students from denmark and all over the world than to live with two or three people. On campus there are parties almost everyday and you meet a lot of people!

Klubben, the student union's bar/disco is the place to be every Thursday. Social Club is a disco in the city, the best for heavy drinkers. You have free beer from 23.00 to 24.00 and the entrance is free before a certain time (1am?!). Every Saturday, the best place to go to (for you guys out there) is Train. This place was described to me by danish girls as the "meat market". During the day, Plug-inn is the best place to be at tha Aarhus Business school. Unfortunately, it closes early... You can travel to Sweden or Finland at very low prices through Ryanair. Please visit Stockholm. Of course you have to see Copenhagen in Denmark. ;)
