HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Home university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? The apartment was great, the neighborhood was close to the school but also easy to get to the center of the city. No way I could find something similar on my own, especially living so far away.
Personal comments:
We had a cleaning option in our apartment and the daily cleaning service was great. (They don't do your laundry and dishes) This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

STUDENT LIFE
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Students interact with the local community without much university involvement
Activities, Nightlife, Travel: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
Don't do what so many dummies do and go to the cliche American student hotspots. Find out where the Italians hang out and go there instead, so much classier than binge drinking in a piazza, and you'll have a truer experience of the local culture, not to mention will eat better! Avoid Italian men looking to pick up drunk Americans. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
Take anything that pertains to Italian culture - you'll appreciate this once in a lifetime opp so much more that way. Definitely take Italian - and USE it!
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
Group projects are difficult when everyone's travelling all the time. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: English
Was learning English a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't. Personal comments:
Personally,I studied Italian while I was here and tried to use it, but there were a lot of "ugly Americans" who seemed to think that they had the right to expect America and all it's characteristics (not limited to the language)and were even unreasonable about the quality of English the Italians spoke. When in Rome, do as the WHO do??!! Anyway, communication was a part of my own adventure. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

EXPENSES
The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
Family Other sources of funding:
Personal savings student loan Work opportunities:
I didn't explore any work options Personal spending habits:
The local currancy (the euro) was a lot stronger than the dollar when I was there, and its a big city. Lots cheaper than London though. Food, Overall, Telephone, Housing: was more expensive than at home. Travel, Nightlife: was the same price as at home.
Personal comments:
Share groceries with your rommates. Budget through the semester - we were all broke towards the end! Best friend went here before me so I had a good idea of the expenses. Talk to the poeple who went before you if you can! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
