Personal comments
I had no significant financial surprises.
Tips: Have lunch at the university cafetaria - very cheap and quite delicious. As soon as you have your student card you only pay half of the price for bus and train tickets.

Academic
Course recommendations
All the courses are really interesting and the contents are absolutely up to date! I would recommend to attend courses with an intercultural subject - to get some theory about what you experience daily.

The courses are really interesting and I would recommend to attend a Finnish course there. The teachers are friendly and helpful and answer your mails right away. The equipement (computers, internet, library) is also excellent! This university is perfect for an exchange semester!

Final comments
Turku is a very nice little town and perfect for studying. The university is great and living in the student village means a lot of fun. I recommend to travel as much as possible both to the neighbour countries and to other towns in Finland. Finally: Everybody who goes to Finland should try sauna and afterwards jumping into the snow!

Languages
Language of instruction: English
Was learning English a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't.
Language difficulties
Administrative / Institutional
Personal comments
If you speak English you will have no difficulties to communicate. People at university and in shops/banks... speak English and will always help you. Nevertheless I would recommend to learn some phrases in Finnish as the local people appreciate your effort very much.
