Personal comments
Quite good, rooms and houses in Yo-Kylä need to be renovated, some of them are already renovated. Kitchen was not the best experience. To live in Halliskylä or Ritzinkuja is more comfortable (shared flats by three persons).

Final comments
Travel as much as you can, but don´t go only to Rovaniemi if you want to visit Lapland. Go further north! Ask your tutor or the tutor of another exchange student if your one is not willing to help you, but most of them can give you very good advices.

Alcohol (Drinks) and food in general is more expensive than in Germany. It is not easy to get a normal phone-connection to your room. A deposit has to be paid for this. => It is better to use a mobile phone in Finland.

Go to the market place to buy vegetables. Don´t spend too much money in alcohol. Pay attention to your insurance, the health-care-center gives you only basic help.

Languages
Language of instruction: English
Was learning English a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't.
Language difficulties
Administrative / Institutional
Personal comments
Almost every Finn speaks english, so there is no real need to learn finnish => it is quite hard to speak the finnish language because everybody starts to speak english when he/she recognises that you´re a foreign person.
